Indiana's first-round loss to Las Vegas was followed by a major front-office shake-up, although Kelly Krauskopf had informed leadership before the regular season ended that she planned to step down.
Now Fever guard Sophie Cunningham has spoken up about the changes.
In a recent interview with Yahoo Sports , Cunningham acknowledged that the exits of Amber Cox and Krauskopf came as a surprise, noting there was little indication beforehand that such major changes were imminent.
"There was not a lot of warning, and that's okay. I think that's probably a good thing that you kind of keep it in-house a little bit," Cunningham said during the interview.
At the same time, the Fever guard had kind words for both of them and said she admired the work they put in.
"Kelly and Amber, they're phenomenal, phenomenal people. They cared a lot about us as players and as individuals outside the court. And so I have nothing but great things to say about them. Hopefully, the Fever come in and bring people who can do a really good job for that program. And so I was blessed to be under Kelly and Amber. And I hope that they get the very best. And so we'll see what happens," Cunningham added.
On Friday morning, the Fever announced that longtime executive Krauskopf would step down as team president.
According to the organization , Krauskopf told leadership about her decision before the 2026 regular season ended. So Krauskopf's departure was in motion well before the playoff loss.
"It has been an honor and a privilege to help build and steward the Indiana Fever with the support and trust of [owner] Herb Simon."
"I am deeply grateful for the opportunities, relationships, and shared accomplishments that have shaped my time with this organization. The Fever is poised for an exciting future, and I am proud to have helped lay the foundation for its continued growth and success," Krauskopf said in a statement.

On the same day, general manager Cox was fired after two seasons with the organization. She was hired in October 2024 as chief operating officer and general manager.
During her roughly two years in the job, the Fever made the playoffs both seasons. That includes a 2025 Commissioner's Cup win and a run to Game 5 of the WNBA semifinals that year. This past season, the team also set a franchise record with 28 wins, though it went out in the first round.
With Cox gone and Krauskopf stepping down, the Fever face important decisions as they prepare for the next WNBA season. For now, it remains to be seen whether more front-office changes are coming.
